Types of Services

The Association provides services in three major areas:


Supported Living

We work to ensure that individuals can live meaningful and dignified lives in the community of their choice, in whatever living situation allows maximum independence and involvement with their communities and neighbors, depending on the level of assistance they may require.

Three programs provide supported living services - Residential Supports, Specialized Home Care and Intensive Residential Services:

1. Residential Supports
Responsive to individual needs and changing needs for 35 years, the Residential Supports program provides a variety of housing options,and a range of supports and encourages individual choice.We believe that all people should live with respect and dignity as valued, contributing members within their communities in a place they call home. read more...

2. Specialized Home Care
Shared living for individuals with developmental disabilities. Maximizing the potential and enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through shared living for more than 30 years.Specialized Home Care treats the individual as an individual.We are committed to the belief that the potential of individuals with developmental disabilities is maximized when they are able to live in private homes, where they develop lasting meaningful relationships and learn to be as independent and as integrated into the community as possible. read more...

3. Intensive Residential Services
Helping individuals face challenges, find possibilities, form lasting relationship, and have a full and valued life for more than 25 years. The Intensive Residential Services program makes a lifetime commitment and provides the best quality care to individuals with complex medical and physical needs, and severe developmental disabilities who need high levels of support. read more...

Family Services

We support parents and other family members with information, understanding, and the reassurance that they are not facing challenges alone or unprepared.

Two programs provide family services – Family Support and Community Resources for People with Autism:

1. Family Support
We’ve been there  . . . We can help.
The Family Support Division develops partnerships with families, individuals with developmental disabilities, and professionals to provide opportunities for individuals to reach their fullest potential, empower families to make informed decisions about the issues that affect the quality of their lives, and develop service options that are flexible, easy to access, and sensitive to the cultural needs of the families. read more...

2. Community Resources for People with Autism
Supporting children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families since 1989.
Community Resources, directed by parents and other family members in partnership with autism professionals and other concerned citizens, provides support, information, and practical help for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families living in Western Massachusetts.  Our goal is to help families build on their strengths, work together to create a positive vision for the future, and help their children learn, grow, and be welcomed, fully included members of their communities. read more...

Employment Services

We help individuals with developmental disabilities learn social and work skills so that they can be employed in regular jobs and volunteer in their communities.

Two programs provide employment services - Employment Supports and Valley Tees:

1. Employment Supports
Providing Opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and meaningful work
Employment Supports, through The Greenfield Center and Valley Tees business, provide work-related and social skills training, to adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities, that results in meaningful paid work and volunteer placements.   We help adults develop their potential and become contributing members of their community and everyone benefits – the individual, the employer, the community. read more...

2. Valley Tees
In business since 1995, Valley Tees provides high quality screen printing and embroidery and  employs  individuals with developmental disabilities.

Valley Tees is centrally located in the heart of downtown Greenfield, and serves customers throughout Western Massachusetts, Vermont, and Connecticut.  A business of The Association For Community Living, Valley Tees is one of the most unique businesses in Western Massachusetts.  The individuals with developmental disabilities who work here are integral to our success. read more...
